The DTRT Group was established in 2013 by Ghanaian, American and German entrepreneurs with a shared vision: To harness the power of the +$2 trillion global apparel industry to deliver tangible social good and economic growth in West Africa. Our name, which stands for “Do the Right Thing” is a reminder of our founding conviction and continued mission.
DTRT’s founders chose Ghana because of its favorable competitive positioning and its democratic government, which offers the foundation for a responsible apparel ecosystem to flourish. Rather than seeing Ghana as another stop on the global chase for cheap labor, our founders saw an opportunity to build a cleaner and more inclusive apparel platform in West Africa.
We are now expanding our manufacturing platform while leveraging new technologies and partnerships to build a modern, circular apparel ecosystem that offers a real path to economic empowerment and upward mobility for local communities.
